Memory Club: Selected Works 2003/2005 accompanied the exhibition of the same name at Hales London, 2005. This publication features an essay by JJ Charlesworth alongside images of Bick’s work. Memory Club departs from Bick’s calm approach to painting in the 90s, and instead introduces dynamic angular shapes and forms which simultaneously prop-up and split open the paintings. ‘Memory Club’ was appropriated from a neon club sign which Bick found whilst travelling in Switzerland – the title conveniently serves as a hook in which Bick can hang an abundance of ideas.
