Hales is delighted to announce the inclusion of two paintings by John Hoyland in the 2023 Chengdu Biennale, through 22 November.
Hoyland's paintings appear in the section The Sight of the Stars Makes Me Dream, exploring global art from the last 60 years which has been shaped by humanity's exploration of outer space. Artists include Alicja Kwade, Rachel Rose, Katie Paterson, Liu Xin, Hsiao Chin, Sean Scully, Thomas Ruff, Piero Golia, Eduardo Paolozzi, Aleksandra Mir and Georges Melies.
Time Gravity takes place across two museums (The Chengdu Art Museum), with 235 artists from 22 countries and 476 artworks. Amongst the curators of the Biennale are Wang Shaoqiang, Director of the Guangdong Museum of Art, Zhang Zikang, Director of CAFA Art Museum, Beijing, Phillip Dodd from the UK and Philipp Ziegler from ZKM, Germany.
