Frank Bowling | SEVEN | Newington Gallery

April 28, 2018

Hales Gallery is excited to announce the inclusion of work by Frank Bowling in the exhibition SEVEN in the Newington Gallery, London.

The exhibition offers a glimpse into the variety of artistic practice that is very much part of the community around the Elephant & Castle area of London. From Sonia Martin's enigmatic figurative paintings to Frank Bowling's large and now famous abstract works, the exhibition highlights themes running through painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. The exhibition venue is the former Newington Library purpose built in 1892, situated between the hub of the Elephant and the famous East Street market. The exhibition brings together and celebrates the work of seven artists with distinct perspectives: the artists demonstrate very particular approaches through their chosen medium and as such they can complement and challenge each other while questioning notions of a consistent narrative/common ground.

Participating artists: Dylan Atkins, Frank Bowling, Simon Hiscock, Clive Jackson, Angela Lucas, Sonia Martin, Peter Massingham.
