Hales is delighted to announce the inclusion of Trenton Doyle Hancock's Fooot showing in A Shared Vision: Selections from the Rudolph-Blume Collection. An exhibition at Bradbury Art Museum at Arkansas State University.
This set of 88 artworks represents a fraction of the paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture that comprise the Houston-based, private collection of Sean Rudolph and Brad Blume. Shown publicly for the first time at BAM, the exhibition includes internationally revered artists such as Louise Bourgeois, Jim Dine, Ann Hamilton, Damien Hirst, Martin Puryear, Julian Schnabel, Richard Serra, Cindy Sherman and Andy Warhol.
Also featured are several well-known Houston and Texas artists like Michael Ray Charles, Mark Flood, Francesca Fuchs and Trenton Doyle Hancock.
Divided into themes, the exhibition features images that are abstract, represent people and portraits, various types of creatures, cityscapes, images of and from the home, and several methods of transportation. Each subject is displayed in one of the six galleries in the museum.
Several public events will take place during this exhibition. Scheduled is an evening of meditation, a creative non-fiction reading and "HealthRhythms," an empowering research-based drumming program. The exhibition in its entirety will run through Nov. 17.
Local high school students will tour the exhibition and create works of art and a written statement in response to the work on view. These student artworks will be reviewed. Selected pieces and statements will be displayed following the A-State Thanksgiving break. The student exhibition, titled "Inspired" and the remaining portion of "A Shared Vision" will be available to the public through Dec. 8.
